The third Yawl Olympic Mini Series race was another blowy one as well as a lovely sunny day, I think eight boats started. See the results. Link

A very neat start as you can see, a nice finish at SYC with a curry evening and good company. What an excellent way to spend a Saturday.

The next event is the Pursuit Race on Sunday the 22nd of July.

The next Olympic Mini Series Race is on the first weekend of the Olympics 2012 the 28th July, what a coincidence!

SYC Regatta 12th-17th August 2012 Online registration as soon as possible please so we can see what fleeting we need to arrange. Or if you prefer the printed form hear it is Link

Now a little conundrum – Who knows the rules regarding a lost Mizzen during a race?

1: If it's removed by another boat.?

2: If you hit something and remove it yourself.?

3: Does either of them make a difference?

4: Can you still race?

5: Can you still race but hoist it to go over the finish line?

Answers on an envelope please and posted to, The Bar at Salcombe Yacht Club.

Or post here

I think what he says is a much more practical way forward rather than what I said. So if your mizzen comes down from your fault you must put it up straight away but if it is another person’s fault you can finish the race with it down.
